Platform
Affordability and Ethical Investments
Student fees have doubled since 2001. The price of education is steadily increasing while the quality of our education is diminishing (more capped classes, fewer discussion sections). With my experience in helping 20,000 UC workers achieve living wages, I am committed to mobilizing student and community voices to rally around achieving affordable education. I will continue to advocate for issues regarding worker’s rights to ensure that UC Berkeley is an equitable and ethical campus.
Accessibility and Transparency
The ASUC lacks visibility for students and student organizations that need access to resources, funding, and space. By improving the ASUC’s online resources, students can access information about how to acquire funds, and scholarship/internships opportunities. I will work with the ASUC webmaster to revamp the website to include specific links and resources that will ensure that the ASUC becomes a more accessible, engaging resource for students.
Know Your Rights
There is a lack of communication and accountability between UCPD and ASUC when it comes to campus safety and issues advocacy. I will ensure that UCPD and the ASUC work together through monthly townhall forums where campus community members can voice their opinions and experiences with campus safety. Additionally, I will organize a Know Your Rights education campaign to promote awareness of our rights as students and citizens.
