Higher Education for ALL

Due to budget deficits, many students don’t receive adequate financial aid to sustain opportunities. Some students don’t receive financial aid at all, like AB540 students. Thus, I will leverage resources to increase grants and scholarships to ensure that everyone has equal chance of opportunities regardless of immigration status. Additionally, I will work closely with financial aid office to increase financial aid package for deserving students. Also, I will represent low-income students and AB540 students to ensure that they will receive aid through advocating for the California DREAM Act.

Support for the Transfer, Re-entry, & Student-Parent Community

As one of the largest and fastest growing population of transfers, re-entry, and student-parent (TRSP) community, I have yet to see central coalition from our community to share resources. I will use the resources available within the ASUC and TRSP center to prioritize the retention of academic and student life. Additionally, I will work closely with the TRSP center and other organizations on campus to bridge our coalitions and build strong relationships by raising awareness through increasing transfer educational courses, promote activities and opportunities for transfer students.

Bridging the Christian Community and Interfaith Community to Fight for Social Justice Issues

There are more than 50 Christian organizations and interfaith organizations on campus, but there is no space to come together to fight for social justice. We may have differences, but everyone shares a heart for justice, such as reducing poverty and crime. I will bridge Christian and interfaith community to work together on social justice issues through our faith. Additionally, I will leverage resources to reach out to communities and bring awareness about social justice through working together on events and conferences to establish coalition and clear misconceptions.
