Thank you to all the candidates, volunteers, and students who helped elect all CalSERVE executive candidates and 8 senate candidates to the ASUC for the 2008-2009 school year!

Thank you to all of the candidates, volunteers, and students who supported our campaigns this year. While we are disappointed not all of our hard-working candidates won seats, we are overjoyed that our executive candidates all won their seats, and that 8 of our candidates will become Senators.

According to unofficial results posted by the Elections Council, next year’s executives will be CalSERVE’s Roxanne Winston for President, Dionne Jirachaikitti for External VP, Krystle Pasco for Executive VP, and Carlo de la Cruz for Academic VP.

CalSERVE senators will be Mary June Flores, Lyell Sakaue, Kifah Shah, Obiamaka Ude, Stephanie Yang, Oscar Mairena, Claudia Rodriguez, and Lisa Tran.

Last year, six CalSERVE candidates were elected to Senate, and three won executive positions. Just two years ago, CalSERVE ran no executive candidates and only had four seats in the Senate.

Congratulations to all winning candidates from all parties, as well as to all candidates who invested their time and energy into campaigning but did not secure seats. We look forward to an exciting year.
