Platform

Increase Resources for Economically Disadvantaged Students

In the following academic year, there will be a 9.4% increase in student fees further limiting access to higher education. As senator, I will work with the Vice Chancellor of Equity and Inclusion to advocate and secure an increase in financial aid resources, retention, and programming for AB540 students and other students across the spectrum.

Improving Student Safety On and Off Campus

As students become increasingly alarmed about their safety in light of recent violent and sexual attacks, we cannot ignore this pertinent issue. As senator, I will work towards building a responsive and approachable UCPD and student relationship that will ensure fair treatment for all students. I will also increase visibility and the number of students attending UCPD Student forums and encourage students to join the WarnMe System.

Student Voice Must be Heard

As Lower Sproul Redevelopment plans take center stage, I will ensure that crucial student spaces are not excluded but enhanced. This includes a permanent space for the Multicultural Center which provides an alternative space for students of all backgrounds to socialize, study, and empower themselves. The resources that the Student Learning Center provides for athletes, EOP students, and students in want of tutoring must be sustained. I will strive for student input in the entirety of this decision making process.
