Platform

Developing a Culturally Unified Student Body

I will ensure that the ASUC is doing everything in their political and financial power to advocate for the growth and development of the multi-cultural student body at Cal. In order to do this, I will support educational and program-based measures such as the College Affordability Act, which will help all students in California by freezing the price of tuition for 5 years.

Sustain the Education Department

The education department has suffered from cuts in funding and support from the greater campus with the cut of 8% to every department on campus. In collaboration with “the Education for Change leadership team”, a group working to sustain and expand Education 190 to meet undergraduate demands, I will actively fight for and support the efforts to make the Education minor a permanent and accessible fixture on our campus.

Community Outreach

As students of a public university it is our responsibility to maintain and improve our relationship with the greater Berkeley area, a responsibility that is not been carried out to the best of our extent, despite phenomenal work on the part(s) of the Black Recruitment and Retention Center and other multi-cultural organizations. In order to combat this problem I will pursue opportunities which allow for synergy in design and execution between student organizations and local non-profit.
