Funding For Access & Success

Recruitment and retention based student groups, as well as professional development organizations lack sufficient funding to fully assist and guide students towards their futures. It is vital that resources, campus services, and pre-professional programs are accessible to students for support and guidance. As senator, I will work to preserve and increase funds to ensure student retention and success.

Enriching The Ethnic Studies Department

Every year, the Ethnic Studies Department suffers through budget cuts, which in turn severely affects the collection and number of classes offered. As senator, I will work with faculty, staff, and administration to advocate for more funding for the department’s needs and the creation of more diverse classes. I will also work with students to take steps towards establishing a Pilipino/Pilipino-American Studies program by advocating for more Pilipino tenured professors.

Leadership Development In The ASUC

The Berkeley campus is comprised of many promising student leaders. These individuals will become the future leaders of the campus, as well as the community at large. I recognize the need to promote leadership development and to foster growth within within students. As senator, I will work to make the ASUC space a learning environment. I will work to improve student leadership programs.
