Platform

Embracing Multiculturalism

Groups and spaces dedicated to raising awareness and promoting multiculturalism on campus need more funding and greater visibility. I will advocate for existing and ermerging opportunities for promoting multiculturalism, including culture shows, student groups, conferences and the creation of a permanent multicultural center.

Resources For Fine Arts Organizations

Fine arts groups are forced to practice outside on Lower Sproul, while spaces such as Hearst Gym remain unused. Additionally, performance venues are unaffordable and inaccessible for student groups. I will work with the University to open these unused and safer spaces to fine arts groups for rehearsals and performances. In addition, I will work to ensure that performing arts groups receive the funding and recognition they deserve for the contributions they make to they campus, and their importance in the quality of student life.

Creating A United Queer Community

Many students are unaware of the diversity of issues facing the queer community. In order to raise awareness, I will facilitate opportunities to engage the campus community and queer organizations in meaninful dialogue and I will strive to increase existing and emerging queer groups’ access to resources for stability and growth.
