Platform
Increasing Diversity
A report to the UC Regents identified that “diversity is fundamental to the UC’s mission, quality and service”. As a Senator I will advocate for increased diversity by advocating for funding for Student Initiated Outreach groups that provide vital support in promoting higher education and improving and increasing opportunities for current students to learn about diversity issues, including research grants.
Building Community
Currently, gaps exist between the many communities on campus. As a Senator I will build campus relationships by providing resources for underrepresented communities - gender, sexual orientation, differently-abled and creating a safe space and inclusive campus through continued effort towards supporting coalition-building between groups and allies.
Creating Accountability
The success to the Count Me In (CMI) initiative was a great achievement for students. However, I will ensure that UC administrators have open forums about CMI and other initiatives and establish data to provide financial support for outreach and retention projects that target Asian Pacific American groups facing severe educational inequity.
