The Arts Matter
The arts community lacks representation in the ASUC. If elected, I will be a voice for the large number of arts organizations that are overlooked when it comes to funding and infrastrctural support. I will work for more safe, affordable, high quality performance spaces, which we currently lack because of exorbitant over-pricing and policies that discourage student initiated events.
Get What You Pay For
The ASUC controls $1.4 million of student money, but last year only a third of students voted in ASUC elections. The reason for this low turnout is students are feeling disenfranchised from their representative body. As a senator, I will work to ensure that the ASUC is accountable to all students, undergrad and graduate, that are currently not receiving funding for their work in improving our campus and the world.
Empowering Progressive Communities Of Faith
As your senator, I will work to support interfaith coalition building between progressive students of faith. I will collaborate with other student leaders to expand the work begun by Peace Not Prejudice to promote understanding and respect among different religious communities on campus while also working on issues of social justice and human rights.
