Increasing Academic Resources for Chican@/Latin@ Communities
There are few Chican@/Latin@s moving into graduate level work at Cal. As Senator, I will work to improve and increase the academic resources needed for current students moving into graduate-level work, by advocating for retention and professional development programs that will support and benefit the campus community at large.
A Permanent Multicultural Center
Our campus needs a space that is conducive to community building. As Senator, I will ensure that students are included in the discussions surrounding the multicultural center. I will push for accountability on this issue and for the input of recruitment and retention centers by working with the Vice Chancellor of Equity and Inclusion.
Ensure Proper Funding For Student Groups on Campus
Student organizations have a difficult time navigating through the ASUC when requesting funds for their programs and services. As Senator, I will increase the accessibility and awareness of funds for student organizations by providing all student groups with monthly funding/budgeting workshops.
