Building A Progressive Coalition

A great strength on the Cal campus is the diversity of progressive minded student groups. However, the progressive community has no unifying organization. As an ASUC Senator, I will create a Progressive Coalition to increase community and communication between organizations, share resources, and build more effective campaigns.

Increasing Access–Stopping The Fee Hikes

Student fees have increased 94% in the past 6 years and financial aid has not met the increases in cost of living. As an ASUC Senator, I will continue to fight against the fee hikes, for the implementation of the Tuition Relief Now campaign, and for more comprehensive financial aid, to ensure all students can access a UC education.

Protecting The Student Voice

Recently students on our campus have been harassed by police in Eshlemen Hall. One student was arrested for providing water to a demonstrator. Finally, student organizations with the word “Berkeley” in them have had their names changed by the Office for Campus Life and Leadership. As an ASUC Senator, I will fight to protect students on our campus from unwarranted police action, to preserve our freedom to speak and organize on campus.
