Platform

UCPD Accountability

As an ASUC intern this year, I worked to improve communication between students and law enforcement. There are available lines of communication between students and UCPD, but they are underutilized. I will work to ensure that more students attend UCPD forums to voice their concerns. I will also continue to push for UCPD transparency and the use of UCPD’s oversight committee.

Leadership Development

There are many students seeking internship opportunities and the ASUC has many available positions. As an ASUC Senate Intern, I was able to develop my leadership skills and I hope to make these opportunities more visible to students. As a Senator, I will work to strengthen the ASUC internship program and I will also create leadership forums where students can exchange ideas, experiences, and networks with one another.

Student Safety

There has been a rise in crime rates in and around our campus, affecting students no matter where they are from or how they identify. I will reach out to various campus community groups to advertise the existing safety resources (owl shuttle, bear walk) and also continue working on on self defense workshops and programs, such as “Defending Our Right to Walk” Self Defense Day at Cal.
