Efficient transition of communities housed in Eshleman Hall during Lower Sproul Redevelopment
Communities in Eshleman Hall are facing a period of transition due to Lower Sproul Redevelopment. It is important to advocate for student organization and community spaces so that they can continue providing services and resources, such as recruitment, retention, and professional development. Furthermore, it is important that our organizations are in close proximity with one another to foster community and coalition building. As a Senator, I will ensure student representation in the decision-making of space allocations for organizations in Eshleman during the transition period.
A Public Awareness Campaign to educate our families on the issues students face
Budget cuts and the threat to diversity on UC campuses is not available or readily known by the greater California. Students have been advocating for many of these issues, but we are in need of allies for education. With support from the public, we will have a greater chance of being heard. The ASUC can outreach to media outlets to educate Californians about student issues. I will work with the EAVP office to reach out to these outlets in order to spread more knowledge concerning the tangible consequences.
More advising resources to increase opportunities for Pre-Health Students
All students should be allowed more opportunities to explore avenues to their goals. While several pre-heatlh peer and professional networks exist, many students still do not have access. As a pre-health student myself, I know it can be difficult to understand the various possibilities that exist that lead to a career in the health field. I will work to collaborate many of these resources in order to create a better foundation for pre-health students to explore all options, ranging from pre-med, pre-optometry, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy, post baccalaureate studies, etc.
