You Decide!

Make your voice heard in the ASUC and decide what the

ASUC Advocacy Agenda will be for the coming year!!! The deadline to make your voice heard is August 28th at 11:59PM!

CalSERVE is advocating that students enter the following agenda items into the Agenda form:

SAVE the Cal Grant: During the last CA budget crisis the governor threatened to completely eliminate the Cal Grant program, a program that currently aids almost 300,000 students across the state. This year the ASUC should organize to convince legislators to pass legislation that will guarantee and mandate state funding for the Cal Grant program.

PROTECT services to underrepresented students: The ASUC should work to ensure that students have access to a temporary non-denominational prayer space and to ensure that a permanent multicultural center and a permanent prayer space will be included in Lower Sproul Redevelopment. Both of these facilities should exist separate from each other to ensure that their missions are fully met.

SAVE Cal’s libraries: Many campus libraries will no longer remain open on Saturdays and no libraries will be open 24 hours during finals, breaking a long tradition at Cal, jeopardizing student’s ability to excel academically, and eliminating vital student jobs. The ASUC should work with and pressure University administrators to find alternatives to these decisions.

Together we can ensure that the ASUC prioritizes student interests!
